Welcome to…

the website all about the two new Academies in Hastings and St Leonards: one Academy will replace Hillcrest School in East Hastings and the other Academy will replace both Filsham Valley and The Grove schools in St Leonards.

The project is now in its implementation phase and you can read more about what this entails here

The project has been in the pipeline for several years. The sponsors first submitted an Expression of Interest for the two Academies in November 2008. Once this was approved by the Secretary of State, the full project team was set up in May 2009. The Project Steering Group oversaw the Feasibility Phase which completed on 18th March 2010 when the Funding Agreement was signed.

As part of the feasibility phase there was a public consultation on the Academies which ran between 7th September and 16th October 2009. You can download an archive copy of the Consultation Brochure. Other documents developed as part of the feasibility study were:
The Articles of the Trust that will be responsible for overseeing governance of the Academies
The Education Brief
The ICT Vision for The Hastings Academy
The ICT Vision for The St Leonards Academy
The Design Brief
The Business Case

On this website you can find out more about the sponsors, what happens next, what this proposal means for students, parents and carers, and your community, plus the latest news as it happens.
